The eTwinning European Center regularly organizes online trainings to enhance professional development for educators. Within the framework of the project, an international online professional development training on “eTwinning for Vocational Education” was held on May 18-20, 2022.
The main purpose of the 3-days
training was to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in
accordance with the concept of lifelong education and the requirements of the
labor market, to train educators in vocational education institutions as
independent, creative individuals.
eTwinning ambassador from Azerbaijan Ofeliya Gafarova and English language teacher of Baku Humanitarian College Svetlana Shushayeva attended the event. In order to improve the quality of vocational education, 16 trainings, discussion panels and speeches were organized in 4 parallels for the participants of the event. Along with our country, teachers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Cyprus, Estonia, Turkey, Albania, Tunisia, Italy, France, as well as newly joined countries such as Montenegro also participated and exchanged their best experiences. As a result of the workshop, the participating teachers created joint lesson models and planned project topics to train staff to meet the requirements of the labor market. The project is expected to start in the next academic year. At the end, teachers who successfully completed the training were awarded with international certificates.
It
should be noted that the eTwinning project is part of the European Commission’s
Continuing Education Program and is funded by Erasmus +, the European program
for education, training, youth and sports. The main goal of the project is to
increase communication between local teachers and students and their European
colleagues, to create opportunities for cooperation, to create conditions for
the implementation of various projects for the development of education.
Azerbaijan has been participating in the eTwinning Plus project since 2013. Up
to now, Azerbaijani teachers have participated in 61,889 online and 14 onsite
trainings in professional development in European countries.
