Within the framework of
the eTwinning project, a contact seminar on “eTwinning for Vocational
Education” was organized on November 24-26, 2021 in Tirana, Albania.
The purpose of the event
was to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies of educators in
vocational education institutions in accordance with the concept of lifelong
learning and the requirements of the labor market, to train them as
independent, creative individuals.
Rashad
Chopsiyev, a teacher at the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry
and Innovation represented Azerbaijan at the international event. Teachers from
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Cyprus, Estonia and Turkey also took part in
the seminar. In order to improve the quality of vocational trainings, 16
trainings, discussion panels and speeches were organized in 4 parallels for the
participants of the event.
During the event, the
Azerbaijani representative created a joint educational project with teachers
from Albania, Cyprus and Estonia on "Climate Volunteers from different
schools". One of the main goals of the 7-month joint international lesson
model is to build knowledge, skills and competencies on how to mitigate the
effects of global climate change and develop solutions to adapt to them.
The eTwinning Plus program organizes various
local and international seminars, conferences and professional development
programs to increase the knowledge and skills of educators participating in the
project during the year. These events are held in foreign countries and usually
last for 2-3 days. Every year, 18-20 teachers from Azerbaijan gain the right to
participate in international events in accordance with their project
activities.
At the same time, we
would like to note that the eTwinning Plus project has been implemented by the
Education System Informatization Department under the Ministry of Education of
the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2016.
