A three-day seminar between Azerbaijan and Turkey was held on October 11-13, 2021 in Baku within the framework of the eTwinning Plus project.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vusal Khanlarov, Head of the Bureau on İCT for Education, Mehriban Valiyeva, Head of the Baku Education Department, Mustafa Hakan, Head of Professional Development and Projects department of the Turkish Ministry of Education, eTwinning project coordinators, 36 teachers from different regions of Azerbaijan and 36 teachers from Turkey.
It was noted that the purpose of the seminar on "Media Literacy and Disinformation" is to demonstrate the implementation of international joint education projects in both countries, as well as the continuation of cooperation in the field of education in the European eTwinning countries.
As part of the workshop on 11-13 October various trainings and discussions on media literacy, prevention of misinformation, digital skills, project-based education and teachers' 21st century skills were organized. The trainings were conducted by local and Turkish specialists.
72 teachers from Turkey and Azerbaijan attended the seminar, shared their teaching experiences and started implemention of 33 joint educational projects on the eTwinning platform.
At the end, teachers participating in the event were awarded with certificates.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has been participating in the eTwinning Plus project since 2013. The project is part of the European Union's Continuing Education Program's eTwinning project. The main goal of the project is to increase communication between pedagogical staff from about 40 European countries participating in the program, to create opportunities for cooperation, as well as to create conditions for the implementation of various projects for the development of joint education. So far, the project has implemented 3,432 educational projects with the participation of 3,224 teachers from 927 schools in our country, achieved many high international achievements and competed at the same level with European countries.
