eTwinning
Plus Azerbaijan held a Regional Conference in Lankaran on 18-20 November 2019.
The Conference lasted for three days on the topic of “Project based learning”.
More than
50 local teachers participated in the Conference. The aim of the event was to
share the experience on modern usage of technology in education, increase
cooperation between local and European teachers, enlarge the projects’ scope in
the country and develop teachers’ knowledge
and skills. 6 workshops
on Web 2.0 tools, project planning and work on Twinspace organized for the
professional development of participated teachers.
Representatives
of the Bureau on ICT for Education under the Ministry of Education of the
Azerbaijan Republic, Head and deputy head of the regional educational department
participated in the event. As a result of the conference 14 projects were
created, 5 of them have international collaboration.
Overall,
552 schools joint eTwinning in Azerbaijan. There are almost 2000 projects
realized by 2085 Azerbaijan teachers in eTwinning portal. eTwinning teachers
have lots of opportunities to participate in onsite
trainings, conferences and professional development courses. These kind of
onsite trainings are organized in one of the member countries and they usually
last for 2-3 days. All costs of the trips are met by the budget of eTwinning
grant project signed by the Bureau on ICT for Education.
