eTwinning Thematic Conference was
held in Dublin, Ireland on May 09-11.The main goals of this Conference were:

To
provide an opportunity for eTwinning Schools to share and exchange practices;
·
To
offer professional development for staff of eTwinning schools;
·
To
establish and possibly strengthen the eTwinning Schools network;
·
To
gather ideas and feedback on the implementation of the eTwinning School concept.
The Conference consisted of 24
trainings, discussion panels and speeches in 3 parallel sections on school
management, inclusive education and teaching methods.
The Conference was organized for eTwinning Schools
Label holders from across the eTwinning community in Europe. Azerbaijan was
represented by Sevinj Orujova, principle of the lyceum named after Haydar
Aliyev and Latifa Azimova, principle of the school-lyceum #220. Principals and
teachers from 40 other European countries which are joined the project were
participated in the Conference.
In February 2017, the eTwinning European Center
announced a competition among schools in all countries that joined the project.
As a result, 1210 schools across Europe were awarded with the “2018-2019
eTwinning school” labels, 6 of them are Azerbaijani schools. In this indicator,
Azerbaijan is ranked 5th among the 41 participating countries in the project by
the number of winning schools. The winning school principals and teaching staff
are given trainings for professional development and other awards. Today, 9
schools in Azerbaijan is eTwinning Schools Label holders.
