An international event organized by the eTwinning
Central Support Service took place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, from
October 17-19, 2024.
Around
100 educators from Azerbaijan, as well as Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Portugal, Turkey, and Spain,
participated in the event.
The purpose of the event, organized under the theme
“From Classroom to Community,” was to advance educators' teaching practices
with modern methods, enhance ICT and language skills, and create an environment
for developing joint lesson examples and international projects with
international colleagues.
During
the 3-day event, training sessions were held on topics such as “The Role of
Artificial Intelligence in Education” and “Project-Based Learning in Inclusive
Classrooms,” and panel discussions on “Successful Project Models” implemented
in general education institutions took place.
As a result of the event, country representatives
developed joint lesson models with their European colleagues, focusing on
applying new learning environments that balance students' needs and
capabilities and highlighting the connection between students' comprehension
needs and the surrounding environment in the educational process. Aygun
Muradova, a foreign language teacher from Secondary School No. 156 in Baku,
created an integrated lesson model titled “Global Citizens in Action” with her
colleague from Estonia.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has been
participating in the “eTwinning” project since 2013. The project is part of the
European Union's Lifelong Learning Program and aims to increase communication
among educators from 44 European countries participating in the program, create
collaboration opportunities, and provide a platform for implementing various
joint educational projects. Within the framework of the project, 5,103
educational projects have been implemented with the participation of 4,308
teachers from 1,141 schools in Azerbaijan, achieving many high international
accomplishments and competing on an equal level with European countries.
